Quasi-adiabatic Transition Crossing in the Hybrid Synchrotron
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non-adiabatic features around the transition energy are well-known to be one of most important beam physics issues in most of circular hadron accelerators. A novel technique to avoid them by the adiabatic motion, a quasiadiabatic, nonfocusing transition-energy crossing (QNTC), was proposed. In a longitudinally separated function-type accelerator, in which particles are confined by an rf voltage or burrier voltages and accelerated by a step voltage, the confinement voltage can be arbitrarily manipulated as long as the particles do not diffuse, while a strict acceleration voltage is necessary for the orbit of a charged particle to be balanced in the radial direction. The introduction of QNTC is most suitable for the longitudinally separated function-type accelerator. This new method was examined in this type of accelerator, both theoretically and experimentally. This was a first and significant application of the hybrid synchrotron. The results will be presented.

Non-adiabatic passage through an avoided crossing
By the application of an ultra fast magnetic field sweeping (2.0 × 105 T/sec) and the zero-field magnetic resonance (ZFMR)/FID techniques, we are able to probe the dynamics at the level anti-crossing region of the photo-excited triplet states of pentacene-h14 in p-terphenyl (PHPT) and pentacene-d14 in p-terphenyl (PDPT) systems. The crossing is a non-adiabatic passage at such a high jumping rat...
متن کاملDetermination of Non–Adiabatic Scattering Wave Functions in a Born–Oppenheimer Model
We study non–adiabatic transitions in scattering theory for the time dependent molecular Schrödinger equation in the Born–Oppenheimer limit. We assume the electron Hamiltonian has finitely many levels and consider the propagation of coherent states with high enough total energy. When two of the electronic levels are isolated from the rest of the electron Hamiltonian’s spectrum and display an av...
متن کاملCoherent control of interacting electrons in quantum dots via navigation in the energy spectrum.
Quantum control of the wave function of two interacting electrons confined in quasi-one-dimensional double-well semiconductor structures is demonstrated. The control strategies are based on the knowledge of the energy spectrum as a function of an external uniform electric field. When two low-lying levels have an avoided crossing, our system behaves dynamically to a large extent as a two-level s...
متن کاملHybrid Inflation with Quasi-canonical Supergravity
We construct a hybrid inflationary model associated with the superheavy scale MX ≃ 2 × 1016 GeV of the minimal supersymmetric standard model which is based on the simplest superpotential for symmetry breaking and in which the inflaton potential along the inflationary trajectory is essentially provided by quasi-canonical supergravity. The resulting spectrum of adiabatic density pertubations is b...
متن کاملPerformance analysis a gas turbine cycle equipped with a double acting type stirling engine in a power generating unit
The aim of this study is to investigate the performance of a gas turbine cycle equipped with a Stirling engine from the thermodynamic point of view. In this system, part of the heat loss from the gas turbine is transmitted to a Stirling engine to generate more power. In the proposed system analysis, the governing equations of the hybrid cycle are modeled in MATLAB software and Schmidt and ideal...
